Biotan®+
NON-STICK COATING
Our Biotan®+ Cooking surface is free from harmful chemicals and materials, according to law. Inspired by nature, our eco-friendly non-stick technology provides long-lasting efficiency.
Thermophore
TECHNOLOGY
The 8mm thick Thermophore bottom is thermo-shock resistant and will never warp. The Thermophore bottom and side walls provide optimal heat distribution and heat retention. This ensures even cooking across the entire pan and enhances energy efficiency.
Energy
SOURCES
Gastrolux® products are compatible with all stove types, including induction, gas, electric, and ceramic cooktops
Ergonomic
HANDLES
The fixed handle, double-sided handles on pots, and lid knobs remain cool, and all are ovenproof up to 260°C/500°F. Detachable handles should be removed when using the cookware in the oven. The ergonomic design provides a secure and comfortable grip during cooking.
Detachable
HANDLE
If your Gastrolux® product features a detachable handle, ensure that you remove the handle before placing the pan in the oven. When removing the pan from the oven, reattach the cool handle for safe handling. The detachable handle can withstand an oven temperature of up to 120°C/245°F.
Useful
COUNTERHANDLE
Our Counterhandle is very useful for lifting your pan with two hands when it is heavy. Always use an oven mitt or potholder to protect your hand from heat when holding the counterhandle.
Individual
PRODUCTION CODE
Each Gastrolux® Biotan Plus item features a unique code. After the final quality check, this code is laser-etched onto each pan before it is packed and shipped worldwide.
USER
MANUAL
Preheat
Gently
Start by heating your Gastrolux® Cookware over low to medium heat. Gradually increase the temperature to your desired cooking level. When you poor a few tiny drops of water to the pan, if they dance around, the pan is ready. Reduce the temperature slightly and start cooking.
Minimal
Oil or Butter
Concerned about a healthy lifestyle? Thanks to the Biotan®+ non-stick coating, you can cook with little to no oil. A thin layer of oil is all you need to achieve the best texture and flavour.
Maximal
Versatility
Gastrolux® Cookware is perfect for a variety of cooking methods, including frying, sautéing, simmering, boiling, and even baking (fixed handles oven-safe up to 260°C/500°F and detachable handles oven-safe of up 120°C/245°F). From soups and stews to stir-fries and sauces, you can count on even heat distribution and consistently excellent results.
Induction
Cooking
When using induction cooktops, ensure the cookware matches the size of the induction zone for optimal heat transfer.
Oven
Safe
Gastrolux pots and pans are oven-safe, allowing you to seamlessly transition from stovetop to oven for baking, roasting, or finishing dishes. The handles on all Gastrolux® series products can withstand oven temperatures up to 260°C/500°F and detachable handles oven-safe of up 120°C/245°F. For your safety, ALWAYS use oven mitts or other protective gear when handling hot Gastrolux® Cookware. If your Gastrolux® product has a detachable handle, remove it before placing the pan in the oven. When removing the pan, use the cool detachable handle to safely grab it.
Use Adapted
Kitchen Tools
To preserve the Biotan®+ non-stick surface, we recommend using silicone or wooden utensils. Plastic and nylon tools are also acceptable. When using metal utensils, ensure they do not have sharp edges or angles. Avoid using knives in cookware, as they can damage both the pan and the knife.
Choose
Adapted Oils
Choose an oil that suits the required cooking temperature. Oils suitable for elevated temperatures usually indicate their smoke point on the packaging. Unsuitable oils may burn, imparting a bitter taste to the food.
Work on Clean Ceramic or
Induction Hob
Salt is a particularly hard ingredient that everyone is using daily. Always lift your pan to move it around; never slide it on the hob, as this can scratch the surface.
Cooking with Lid
Saves up to 60% of Energy
Whenever possible, cook with one of our Gastrolux® glass lids. With this simple tip, you can save up to 60% of energy. Our Gastrolux® glass lids are oven-proof up to 260°C.
Special Security Recommendation
When Deep-frying
When deep-frying in a Gastrolux® pan, do not fill more oil than one-third of the pan’s capacity. Ensure the bottom of the pan and the hotplate have the same diameter. Always monitor your pan and strictly follow the heat recommendations for the oil you are using. Caution: Overheated oil can ignite quickly. Be prepared to extinguish any fire with an extinguisher, lid, cloth, or similar item. Never use water to extinguish burning oil. Take care with the items you are deep-frying, as wet or improperly prepared foods can cause dangerous splashes.
CARE &
Maintenance
How to Clean Your
Gastrolux® Biotan®+ Cookware
Use hot water, a cleaning brush or sponge, and standard dish detergent. Hot cookware can be cleaned immediately, as the residual heat in the pan will warm the water instantly. Rince with clean water and dry well.
Stubborn
Stains
If food residue is stuck, soak the cookware in warm soapy water for a few minutes, then gently scrub with a soft sponge. For burnt oil, heat the pan, go in the empty think, pour 1 cm of water and a drop of detergent. Scrub the cookware in circular motions with the rough side of your sponge (such as Scotch Brite). Avoid using stainless steel cleaning pads or abrasive sponges. Rinse with clean water and dry well.
Dishwasher
Use
Gastrolux® Cookware is easy to clean, and since dishwashers and harsh detergents can reduce the lifespan of the non-stick coating, we do not recommend placing it in the dishwasher.
After
Each Use
Clean your cookware properly before storing it. Thanks to the amazing Biotan®+ non-stick surface, cleaning is a breeze.
Storage
Stacking
When stacking your cookware, place a Gastrolux® pan separator, a cloth or paper towel between the items to protect the surface from scratching.
Safety
Precautions
Avoid
Overheating
Do not preheat empty cookware for more than 90 seconds. Non-stick cookware should never exceed 300°C, a temperature that can be reached quickly with modern and older cooktops. Once your pan has reached the desired cooking temperature, reduce the heat to medium or low for best results. Overheating can damage the non-stick properties of your cookware.
Handle With Care
On Gas Stoves
On gas stoves, the flame can, in some situations, reach the handle and heat it up. The best option for gas stoves is to use the Gastrolux® detachable handle.
Detachable
Handle
If your Gastrolux® product features a detachable handle, ensure that you remove the handle before placing the pan in the oven. When removing the pan from the oven, reattach the cool handle for safe handling.
Never Leave
Unattended
Always stay nearby while cooking, especially when using high heat, to prevent potential hazards.
NO
Worries
Broken
Handle
No problem at all! To assist you, we need to know the exact item you have. You can find the reference on any Gastrolux® webstore. We will provide you with a new handle, which you can easily replace yourself.
Sticky Residual Oil or
Improper Cleaning
With careful daily cleaning, this should not occur. To partially restore the nonstick properties of your pan, please follow these steps: heat the pan, go in the empty think, pour 1 cm of water and a drop of detergent. Scrub the cookware in circular motions with the rough side of your sponge (such as Scotch Brite). Avoid using stainless steel cleaning pads or abrasive sponges. Rinse with clean water and dry well.
Overheated
Coating
If your pan’s coating has turned matte black or deep brown, particularly starting from the center, this is a sign of overheating. Prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures can cause damage to the nonstick surface, diminishing its performance and durability. To prevent further damage and preserve your cookware, avoid overheating in the future by using low to medium heat settings and preheating the pan gradually. While the nonstick properties may not be fully restored, careful cleaning and maintenance can help prolong the usability of your pan.
Minor
Scratches
Gastrolux® Biotan®+ Cookware is renowned for its superior nonstick properties, durability, and long- lasting performance. Even if minor scratches appear, the cookware remains safe to use without compromising cooking efficiency or affecting your health. It is PFOA- and PFOS-free, and its unique coating meets all food contact safety standards.
Silvered Stains
Appeared on Stove
This phenomenon may occur with aluminium dust on new cookware. These marks are not scratches and can be removed. To clean them, apply a ceramic cleaner or oven cleaning spray to the stains and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then, gently scrub the surface in circular motions with the rough side of your cleaning sponge (such as Scotch Brite). Do not use stainless steel cleaning pads or abrasive sponges. Over time, these stains will disappear.
Discoloration
Of the Pan
Some discoloration may occur due to high heat. This is purely aesthetic and does not affect performance.
